HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-07-18 Reading Housing Authority MinutesREADING HOUSE 14G AUTHORITY Reading, Massachusetts MINUTES OF A SFMIAL MEETING HEZ,D JUIY 18, 1977 The members of the Reading Housing Authority met in special session at 7;30 P.M. on Monday, July l8, 1977 at 22 Frank D. Tanner Drive in the Town of Reading, Massachusetts. Proper notice of this meeting was posted in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 39, of the General Laws as amended by Section 3, Chapter 303, Acts of 1975. Those present ate the meeting were Mr. White, Chairman who called the meeting_ to order; also Mr. Dube, Mr. Stratton Mr. Dempster and Mr. Johnson, forming a quorum. Mrs. Pierce, the Executive Director, was also present. The revised Section 8 Contract between the Housing Authority and D.S.I was the subject for discussion at this time. Mr. White, who was unable to at- tend the last-regular meeting, was filled in by the other members on the additions and deletions to Mr. White's proposed Contract, and Mr. Scott's reasons for these changes. After much discussion, Mrs Pierce was asked to submit the proposed Co tract back to Mr. Scott with the following comments: 1. That the „Hold Harmless Clause" which Mr. Scott had added to his.'; Contract be revised to read that "both parties agree to hold.the" other harmless from suits, claims, etc. ", continuing along in the name vein. 2. Also, that the payment period be adjusted to begin on July lst through June 3Qth, the regular fiscal year of the Housing Authority. 3. That a clause be incorporated into the Contract which would "state that all payments to the Contractor be made "provided the Authority has funds available" and also that the Contract be valid only afte the administration of the Projram is in the hailda of thq Authority. It was the hope of the Authority that all these minor problems could be straightened out with D.S.I. and a Contract be drawn which would be agreeable to both parties. This matter will be acted upon at the next regular meeting in August for -a final decision for the future of the Authority +a Section 8 Program. :. There being no further business to come before the meeting, and upon a motion duly made and seconded, It_waa unanimously voted to adjourn the meeting and the meeting was adjourned by the Chairman at 8:30 P.M.
