Minutes of the Meeting of March 16, 1992
A regular business meeting of the members of the Reading Housing
Authority was held on March 16, 1992 at the office of the Authorityr
22 Frank D. Tanner Drive in the Town of Reading, Massachusetts.
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. with William E. McIsaa
presiding. Other members present and forming a quorum were: Mr.
Allen and Mr. Reynolds. The Executive Director, Ms. Plansky, was
also in attendance.

Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Allen and seconded by Mr. Reynolds
it was unanimously
VOTED: To approve the minutes of the meeting of February 10, 199;
as presented.
The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in
effect.
Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Reynolds and seconded by Mr. Allen
it was unanimously
VOTED: To approve and sign the checkroll /billroll for the period
from check #3950 through #4015 inclusively.
The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in
effect.
Computer Committee - The committee reported that they were still
awaiting bids on the computer specifications provided by the Auth
The Chairman noted that there was an outstanding vote to authoriz
the committee to proceed with purchasing computer sytem /software/
up to $10,000. The committee will have a final report for the ne

Lawsuit - The Reading Housing Authority and the Executive Director,
in her official capacity and as an individual, are being sued for
a civil rights claim by a Section 8 tenant. Our insurance carrier
HARRG authorized representation by John Greco and subesquently by
Curley & Curley, Martin Rooney, Esq. in this matter. Summary judgment
motions will be discussed before the Judge on March 18, 1992. T e
Board discussed the issues involved and upon a motion duly made
by Mr. Allen and seconded by Mr. Reynolds, it was unanimously
VOTED: To direct the Executive Director to explore legal requir ements
and commitments necessary as Plaintiffs in the DeSimone, et al Vs.
Reading Housing Authority, et al matter currently in litigation
and take the appropriate course of action as facts and circumstances
may require.
The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in
effect.

Report of Programs
The Executive Director presented an update on the programs under
the direction of the Authority.
Next Board Meeting
The Board unanimously agreed to meet at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, April 3,
1992 for a short meeting before Town Meeting convenes.
