HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-09-07 Reading Housing Authority MinutesREADING HOUSING AUTHORITY Minutes of the Meeting of September 7, 1995 A regular Board meeting of the Reading Housing Authority was held on Thursday, September 1995 at 6:30 P.M. at the Town Hall, 16 Lowell Street in the Town of Reading, Massachusetts. The Chairman, Reverend Robert K. Sweet, Jr., called the meeting to order. Those members present and forming a quorum were: Mr. Sweet, Mr. Reynolds and Mr. Allen. Ms. Plansky v also in attendance along with the Authority's attorney, Mr. Greco. Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Reynolds and seconded by Mr. Allen, it was unanimously VOTED: To adjourn to Executive Session for the purpose of discussing real estate matters relative to the Bear Hill development and to return to regular session before adjourning, by following roll call vote: Mr. Reynolds - aye Mr. Allen - aye Mr. Sweet - aye The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. After adjourning the Executive Session, ,the Board reconvened in open session in the Berger Room at 9.20 P.M. Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Allen and seconded by Mr. Reynolds, was unanimously VOTED: To rescind the vote of August 16, 1995 that required exact unit location by buildi and unit number be provided by developer of the Bear Hill development. The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Allen and seconded by Mr. Reynolds, it was unanimously VOTED: The developer has provided a "Unit Addressing Plan" dated May 15, 1995, indicat unfits to be conveyed as "affordable" units in each building. Any change to this "Unit Addre: Plan" will be in accordance with the criteria of the main body of the "Agreement ". For each change the developer must notify the Reading Housing Authority in a reasonable and timely fashion. The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Allen and seconded by Mr. Reynolds, it was unanimously VOTED: To approve the offer of: nine (9) "A" style units at $108,000 for each unit, each with 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths, 7, constructed identically to all other "A" style units in the complex; with the same amenities, quality of design and constructions, interior design and layout; with balcony facades and full length balcony doors as submitted to the Board at the meeting of September 7, 1995 and laid out by Martin Architects in plans dated October 21, 1994, revised August 29, 1995 and to be further revised to conform to these requirements. two (2) "H" style units with garage at $127,000 for each unit, each with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, constructed identically to all other "H" style units in the complex; with the same amenities, quality of design and constructions, interior design and layout; as submitted to the Board a the meeting of September 7, 1995 and laid out by Martin Architects in plans dated October 21 1994, revised August 29, 1995 and to be further revised to conform to these requirements. one (1) "G" style unit with garage donated to the Reading Housing Aut_ horny, containing tiVo (2) bedrooms and two (2) baths, constructed identically to all other "G" style units in the complex; with the same amenities, quality of design and constructions, interior design and layout; as submitted to the Board at the meeting of September 7, 1995 and laid out by Martin Architects in plans dated October 21, 1994, revised August 29, 1995 and to be further revised to conform to these requirements. one (1) "H" style unit with - garage donated to the Reading Housing Authority, containing three (3) bedrooms and two (2) baths, constructed identically to all other "H" style units in the complex; with the same amenities, quality of design and constructions, interior design and layout; with balcony facades and full length balcony doors as submitted to the Board at the meeting of September 7, 1995 and laid out by Martin Architects in plans dated October 21, 1994, revised August 29, 1995 and to be further revised to conform to these requirements. The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. Upon a motion duly made by Mr. Allen and seconded by Mr. Reynolds, it was unanimously VOTED: To authorize the Chairman to sign the "Agreement" after review by Reading Housing Authority Counsel and its Chairman to insure that all changes in the wording are in compliance with all the required conditions as voted by the Board. The Chairman then declared said motion carried and said vote in effect. The Chairman requested that the Executive Director and the Authority's Counsel meet with the other attorneys to work out placement of the language within the agreement. There being no further business before the Board, it was unanimously voted to adjourn until their regular meeting on Monday, September 18, 1995 at the office of the Authority.
