Reading, Massachusetts
The regular meeting of the Housing Authority was held at the Authority office
on Frank Tanner Drive on December 10, 1984.
William Rand, Leonard Westra, Patricia Swain were present with Richard Dempster
presiding. Patricia Renzello was also present.
It was moved and seconded that P. Swain would serve as acting secretary in the
absence of Janet Pierce.
Mr. Rand moved, Mr. Westra seconded that the Secretary Report be accepted.
Mr. Rand moved, Mr. Westra Seconded that the payment of bills, listing enclosed
with minutes, be accomplished.
P. Renzello reported that all rents had been collected and that one unit was
empty until 1/1/85.
Regarding the 705 program - The general concensus among attending membees' was that
the Waverly Road land is the most logical for building the six units. yb 4k
Dempster reported that the town warrant will be opened and closed on February 4,
and a special Town Meeting will be held on February 25. It is hoped that the
town will willingly donate the land to the Housing Authority. Dick Dempster to
ask BPW where the utilities are located (at the Waverly Road site), go to the
Selectmen and get the article on the Town Meeting warrant for obtaining the land.
It was felt there would be no problem with abuttor(s). Because of the existence
of ledge, probably there would be no basements in the units. Would be a omprehensive
permit. Question was asked: What is "S" zoning? Would spot zoning be involved?
Mr. Westra moved, Mr. Rand seconded the motion that Mr. Dempster go to the Select-
men for the purpose of obtaining the said piece of property. Felt he would need a
picture of the type of building that might be erected there to show the Selectmen.
689 - Discussed letter from Steve Spinetto regarding the house on Bancrof Pat
Renzello was requested to ask J. Pierce to check to see if John Walker di meet
the December 3 deadline mentioned in the letter.
There was some discussion about the swimming pool. What is meant by "mothballing"
term. Mr. Westra proposed that we review minutes on pool at preceding meetings,
and P. White's letter concerning our responsibilities, etc.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
Respectf=ully submitted,
Patricia Swain
Acting Secretary
