Call to Order 7:05 pm II. Approval of Minutes Motion to approve minutes from May 16, 2016 (Dubois /Yablonsky) Vote: Unanimous III: Director Search Ms. Yablonsky reported that Town Counsel advised that an Interim Director for the Library should be appointed to begin after Ms. Urell's last day of service, which will be June 29, 2016. Ms. Yablonsky outlined some approaches to a search for a new Library Director. An internal search requires posting position in every town building for 5 business days, and does not require a search committee. A larger search will require a search committee, charged with winnowing the field of applicants to a field of finalists, to be interviewed by the Board of Trustees. Ms. Urell excused herself from the meeting at this point. Trustees discussed pre s for scope of search process, and for the appropriate time p =51 initiate the search. M BrzezinskPnoted the need to determine if there are existing state SV and town requirements pertaining to conducting a search like this. Trustees voiced conce that the Interim Director work with a full complement of staffing to ensure an efficient, successful move back to the renovated Library, and to support efficient delivery of servic( in the new Library. Ms. Yablonsky noted the organization BiblioTemps serves Massachus( libraries by providing trained library professionals to assume temporary positions, if need Page 1 1 Trustees considered options for filling the Interim Director position, and determined Assistant Director Amy Lannon would clearly be an excellent choice. She has shown skill and tact in meetings with the Trustees and with the Building Committee, she has the experien -ce to successfully navigate moving back to the renovated Library, and she has had years of experience with the Reading community in her role as Assistant Director. Motion to appoint Amy Lannon, Assistant Director, to the position of Interim Director, as soon as possible. (David Hutchinson /Cherrie Dubois).
