January 4.2010 A regular business meeting of the Reading Housing Authority was held on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 5:30 P.M at the office of the Reading Housing Authority the town of Reading, Mass. The meeting was called to order at 5:40 P.M. with the Chair, Karen L. Flammia, presiding. Those members present and forming a quorum were Kevin Mulvey, Diane Cohen, Timothy Kelley and Mary Connors well as the Secretary/Executive Director, Lyn Whyte. Minutes Move Tim Second Diane Vote 5-0 10-33 VOTED: To accept for the record the Minutes of the Regular Business Meeting of December 7, 2009, as presented. Finances Move Diane Second Tim Vote 5-0 10-34 VOTED: To approve and sign the checkroll/bilholl for the period for Accounts Payable Check #2358 -2600 Payroll Summary as presented for December, 2009. Section 8 Voucher Program, #4447-4539 as presented. Finances Move Second Vote 5-0 10-35 VOTED: To certify receipt of monthly operating statements for all RHA programs for the month end November, 2009 of the current fiscal year. Personnel Matters: - Memo to staff and Board Members regarding State Ethics Commission mandatory education and implementation procedures. Process was discussed with the Board and each member was given a copy of training requirements and online training. Executive Director will oversee the training of all RHA staff members. Online training must be completed by April, 2010. Report of Programs: Vacancy Report-Mitch Hudak, State Program Coordinator provided her monthly report indicating that we had two vacancies in our elder development. We moved one resident from a second floor to a that floor unit as a medical transfer. The second floor unit is being remodeled with a new kitchen and bath and will be leased the first week of January. All family units are fully leased at this time. - Sec 8 Report- Our new Fair Market Rents are in place for January 2010. The program coordinator has issued several vouchers but not all new participants have leased up. - Resident Service Coordinator- Current Tannerville Newsletter provided. New Business: - No new business at this time. Real Estate Matter: - I 1 Grand Street: No changes as of now. Mr. Thompson still has full use and control of home. He did provide RHA with a key to the building for emergencies only, however, he asked that we not do anything with the property at this time. With his permission, RHA is plowing the driveway during snowstorms for emergency access to building. Board Schedule February, 2010 BOARD MEETING: 02 /01/2010 @ 5:30 PM 10-362 TO ADJOURN: 6:00 PM.
