New Business:
Director Jacquie Carson from Peter Sanborn Place made a presentation to the RHA Board regarding
their plans to expand the facility on Bay State Road in the new future. She is in need of additional gap
funding and has plans to present an application to the Town for use of monies from the Affordable
Housing Trust Fund. The expansion of this facility will provide additional supportive housing for senior
' citizens in and around the Town of Reading. Mr. Goldy also feels that this project would be a good use
of the housing trust dollars and was supportive of RHA's initial commitment towards this Section 202
project. With discussion, a motion was presented to the Board acknowledging their support of the
application to be submitted shortly to the Town. Motion was presented and carried.
Real Estate Matter:
- Affordable Unit Re -sale: The owner of Unit 904 Gazebo Circle has opted to sell her affordable
unit at this location. The RHA has been unable to locate an eligible buyer for this unit at this
time. The RHA has a right to initiate its right of first refusal and purchase said unit at a price not
to exceed $180,000. Upon discussion, the Board decided it would be in the best interest of all
parties to decline to execute its right to purchase this particular unit and opt for the owner to
convey the property to any third party free of all restrictions as set forth in the Reading
Affordable Housing Program Deed Rider, namely, page 34, part 2., section (b). The Executive
Director will inform the owner in writing of our decision. Motion was presented and carried.
