On motion of Harold '"'u.tnam it was voted that the sum of 'ine Thousand Five Hundred €znd Thirty-five f`1~{~,535.GOj Hoilars be raised and appropriated, for the construction o.f such streets as may be determined by the Board of Public forks, said sum to be appor- tioned as :follows: 4,000.00 for salaries. ~'S,535.00 for materials and other expenses. Article 20. On motion made by Harald 7'utnam it vv as voted, that Article 20 be indefinitely postyor~ed. Article 21. On motion of Harold T". 'utnam it was voted that the sum of Forty 'd'ive hundred 4, 500.00) Dollars be raised and appropr- ia.ted for the purpose of conducting and promoting recreation, play, sport, physical education and other social, educational and recrea- tional activities upon such land and buildings as defined in Section 14 of Chapter 45 of the general Laws, with authority to exercise all powers conferred therein including the purchase of the necessary equipment and the employment of teachers, supervisors and other of- ficers and e3mployees and the fixing of their compensation. Article 23. On motion of Alexander 7. glover it was voted that Article 23 be indefinitely postponed. Article 24. `'n motion Of A:lexander P. Glover it was voted that the sum of thirteen thousand (13,000) dollars be raised and appropr- iated for the transportation of school children for V.,,e year 1947. Article 25. On motion of Alexander P. Glover it was voted that the sum of five hundred and fifty (550) dol"ars be raised and ap- propriated to pay into the teachers retirement system for the benefit of teachers on ; ilitary leave of absence during the year 1946 as provided for and under authority of Chapter 419 of the Acts of 1943. .'article 27. ~n motion of Joseph. r. geed it was voted that the subject matter of Article 27 be referred to the 15unicipal Fight ,3oard, and that said 13oard be, and it,hereby is, authorized to install such additional str• et lights, as in its judgement are required, and to :Hake such changes in the size, type, and location o`l~' existing str'et light, as it may deem advisable, the expense of same to be paid from the income of the Plant. Article 28. On motion of 111illiam J. oaks it was voted that Article 28 be indefinitely postponed. Article 29. On motion of Yenneth C. Tatham it was voted that the sum-of one hundred dollars 0100.00) be raised and appropriated under the provisions of Section 40 to 45 of Chapter 128 of the General Laws, and that the -3oard of Selectmen be and they hereby are authorized to appoint a director to cooperate with the TTiddlesex County Trustees for the County did to Agriculture and work of the Middlesex County extension `s`ervice and the 4-F Clubs. Article 30. On motion of Samuel F. Davis it teas voted, that the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred dollars ('1,500.00) be raised and appro- priated for the purpose of providing by lease or otherwise suitable headquarters for Reading Post x,62 of the American Legion. Article 331. On motion of Yenneth C. Latham it was voted that the sum of Six Hundred and 7ifty dollars {650.00) be raised and appropri- ated for the purpose of providing by lease or otherwise suitable headquarters for Reading Post §685 Veterans of Foreign ears. Article 32. On motion of Charles E. T"'ilkinson it was voted that the sum of Four Hundred Dollars (`400.00) be raised and appropriated for Child 1 elfare `york, 'to be expended under the direction of the lA Reading Visiting Nurse Association and the Board of health. Article 2. On motion of Kenneth C. Latham it was voted that article 2 be taken from the table On motion of 'zeni-,eth C. Latham it was voted that Article 2 be indef- initely postponed. Article 3.
