ARTICLE 11 To See if the Town will vote to amend Table 0.1.1'3. Off-Street
Parking and Loading/Unloading Requirements of the Reading Zoning by
deleting the current text of the Minimum Number of Spaces Required
for Restaurants and substituting therefor the fo|k]vvng. or take any other action with
respect thereto:
For restaurants with seating, one /1\ space for every four (4)
persons of the rated seating capacity of the facility, plus one (1)
space for | the largest shift. For restaurants
with no seating, one (1) space for every seventy-five (75) square
feet of net floor area or fraction thereof, but no less than ten (10)
spaces shall be provided. In addition to the foregoing, restaurants
with drive-thru windows shall provide both a pass-through lane
and a drive-thru lane. The drive-thru lane shall have stacking
capacity for eleven (11) vehicles of which at least five (5) of the
stacking spaces are to be for ordering and the transaction of
business. In addition to the foregoing, the drive-thru lane shall
also have stacking capacity for three (3) vehicles exiting onto
the road."

ARTICLE 12 To see if the Town will vote to amend Section 4.3.2. Of the
Reading Zoning bv adding the following as Section 4.3.2.9..or take any other

action with respect thereto:
"4.3.2.0. The Community Planning and Development Commission may
grant a special permit for the use Vfa lot that isinaO@-15District
for accessory parking too business use located within enabutting
Business B District if, at minimum, the following conditions are
a. Need: TheCPOC finds that the existing parking in the abutting
Business BDistrict isinadequate to meet current Or projected
needs.
b` Size: The lot inthe S-15 District (the "S-15Lnt") for which
the special permit iS sought contains at least one hundred
thousand (1OO,OOO) square feet.
C. The 8-15 Lot either shares G common boundary
ofGt least three hundred (3OO) feet with the Business B
District Oris partially within the Business B Oia[dCt.
d. No portion 0f the 8-15 Lot shall be used for
residential US8.
e. No more than (25%) of
the S-15 Lot area shall be used for parking.
All ofthe parking On the G-15 Lot shall bewithin
three hundred (300) feet of the Business B District boundary.
Q. The development of the accessory parking
area obtains site plan review approval pursuant tVSection
Minimum Reguirements: The accessory parking located
on the S-15 Lot may not be used hv the property within
the BUaiD8ee R District to meet minimum off-street parking
requirements.

ARTICLE 13 To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen,
with the approval of the School Committee and the @pprOVo| of the Commissioner of
EduoatioO, to rent orlease certain surplus space in the Reading Memorial High School
to one or more public or phV8t8 profit-making businesses or nonprofit organizations;
provided, however, that joint occupancy of the High School building shall not interfere
with educational programs being conducted iO said building and provided that the terms
Of any such rental O[ lease shall be8S approved bythe School Committee, o[ take any
other action with respect thereto. .

ARTICLE 14 To see what sum the Town will raise by borrowing, or transfer from
available funds, or otherwise, and appropriate for the purpose of constructing o new school
and associated recreational facilities on the following described land, including the costs Of
original furnishings and equipment, landscaping, paving and other site irnprovennenta,
engineering and an:hitGCLu[G| foes, p|8OS and SpecificatonG, inspection fees, relocation
costs, contingencies and related expenses incidental thereto and necessary in connection
therewith, said SVOO to be expended by and under the direction of the School Committee;
and to see if the Town will vote to authorize the School Committee to file applications for a
grant U[ grants bJbe used bo defray all O[ any part of the cost Of said school construction
and related matters, and to see if the Town will vote to authorize the School Committee to
enter into all contracts and agreements as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of
this Article, or take any other action with respect thereto.
