Topics of Discussion:
1. Minutes from the meeting on October 8, 2015 were reviewed and approved.
2. Trails Conference - Dave and Will gave a report from their participation. Dave
suggested that maybe the Trails Committee could present as a group at next year's
conference.
3. Viewing Platform on the Ipswich River - Dave talked to Chuck Tirone (Conservation).
Chuck is presenting the idea to the Conservation Commission. Chuck thinks that we
may need detailed plans before going to the Army Corps of Engineers for approval.
4. Bog Bridge /next project - DPW is set to put the pack down on Dec. 4. Bog bridge
construction is planned for Dec. 5. Meet at Mattera at 9:00am. Inventory and
cutting will be done on Nov. 28 at 9:00am.
S. Winter Walk - Walkable Reading is sponsoring a Winter Walk on January 24, 2016.
RTC voted to co- sponsor the walk.
6. Kiosk Vandalism - There has been some vandalism of kiosks in the Town Forest. 3
of the kiosks closest to the Wood End trailhead have been destroyed. Will will pick
up the remnants of the kiosks. The committee is considering using our funds to pay
for repair /replacement.
The next meeting of the committee is TBD.
