Board - Committee - Commission - Council: Board of Health 2016 FEB 22 P 3 21' Date: 2014 -09 -18 Time: 5:38 PM Building: Reading Town Hall Location: Berger Room Address: 16 Lowell Street Purpose: General Business Attendees: Members - Present: Andrew Friedmann, Barbara Meade, David Singer Members - Not Present: Others Present: Health Director Ruth Clay Minutes Respectfully Submitted By: Darlene Foley Topics of Discussion: Portable Restroom Units The policy adopted by the Town Manager regarding the placement of portable restroom units on any publicly owned land in the Town of Reading was discussed. Clay stated other communities do not have regulations regarding portable restroom units. Friedmann noted that this polity was adopted in May without any input from the Board. The Board did not want to establish a regulation. Friedmann requested the guidelines in the town manager's policy be included with the permit application. West Nile, EEE Discussion The literature from the Hamilton Board of Health to prevent West Nile and EEE was reviewed. Friedmann inquired if it would be possible to obtain the statistical Information from Hamilton pertaining to spraying and its effect on the mosquito population. Clay will contact Leslie Whelan, Health Agent for Hamilton. Clay advised that David Henley of the Eastern Middlesex Mosquito Control Project would be available to speak with the Board if further information was requested. Strategic Plan Discussion Clay advised stakeholders were contacted and 18 are expected to attend the meeting on September 22, 2014. Clay will contact Riverside Community Care to see if a representative from the mental health faction can attend. Minutes of August 12, 2014 were presented. Singer made motion to accept, seconded by Meade.
