Minutes
The minutes of December, 26, 2012 were presented. Friedmann made motion to accept,
seconded by Meade. Approved 2:0
Minutes of January 15, 2013 were presented. Meade made motion to accept, seconded by
Friedmann. Approved 2:0
Animal Regulations
Discussion of regulations continued. C. Sbarra stated the regulations in place are
established for the protection and safety of the public. She provided explanation of the term
generally acceptable agriculture practices. Clay will make recommended changes to
regulation and present at the next scheduled meeting.
Lifeguard Policy
In response to an inquiry from Summit Towers regarding the necessity for a lifeguard or a
variance from that requirement, the Board reviewed the present policy. The policy states
the operator shall provide one or more lifeguards if the Board of Health determines they are
necessary for the safe use of the swimming or wading pool.
Trans Fat Ban
The Board received information on banning of artificial trans fat in food establishments
provided from the Cambridge Public Health Department. Clay will attend a hearing in
Chelsea on February 19th regarding their proposed ban. A joint board meeting will be
scheduled with Melrose and Wakefield to further discuss the issue.
