Topics of Discussion:
Macaroni Grill
Ruth Clay advised the Board the procedure required to issue fines to Macaroni Grill through
the court. Barry McGowan and Wayne Jones from Macaroni Grill agreed to pay the fines
without the Board having to file through the court. They advised there will be a new
leadership team in place. A new general manager is presently going through 8 weeks of
training. At the next scheduled inspection, both inspectors will be present to meet with the
new general manager. Wayne Jones will provide email address where all future Inspections
should be sent to.
Avana Sushi III
A request for sushi rice variance was received from Avana Sushi, 589 Main Street (former
portion of Haven Seafood Market). The application had been reviewed by Jen Keough and
presented to Board. Friedmann made motion to approve, seconded by Singer and approved
3:0:0.
Minutes
The minutes of October 16, 2012 were presented. Singer made motion to accept, seconded
by Meade, Friedmann abstained. Approved 2:0:1
Minutes of November 13, 2012 were presented. Friedmann made motion to accept,
seconded by Meade, approved 3:0:0
Minutes of December 4 were presented. Singer made motion to accept, seconded by
Friedmann, approved 3:0:0
Minutes of December 26 were presented. Meade made motion to accept, seconded by
Singer, approved 3:0:0

Animal Regulations
Discussion of regulations continued. Clay will talk with Department of Agriculture and
Building Inspector and report back at the next meeting.
Health Director's Report
• Clay gave update on the increased number of confirmed cases of flu. Of the cases
confirmed, 91% were the right strain. She advised there were not a large number of
cases in the school. A joint flu clinic with Melrose and Wakefield will be held on
Thursday, January 17`h at the Wakefield Town hall from 5:30 -6:30.
• The State performed tobacco compliance checks and 6 -11 Variety (former Gulf
Station) failed. The State has requested a copy of the new tobacco regulations with
signatures of the Board of Health be sent to them.
Other business and items not reasonably anticipated at the time of posting:
Clay advised the FY14 budget was being submitted unchanged except for a $5000 increase
in mosquito control to maintain adequate treatment /spraying for larvae.
