Please keep in mind the Town Clerk's hours of operation and make necessary arrangements to be sure your posting is made in an adequate amount of time. A listing of topics that the chair reasonably anticipates will be discussed at the meeting must be on the agenda. All Meeting Postings must be submitted in typed format; handwritten notices will not be accepted. Topics of Discussion: Introductions/ Roles / Setting Norms a. Added and revised some times b. Proportional relationship between time and value? Set times on agenda items and stick to them c. Consider a draft and will bring back to the table next time. d. Pooja will bring snacks next time e. Next meeting will be Tuesday, November 3rd f. December 3 is crossed off as it's a busy time of year g. Created norms: i. Be prepared, be present, be punctual. ii. Begin and end on time. iii. Engage in dialogue during the meeting honestly and respectfully. iv. Keep the focus on what is best for the entire school population. v. Ensure that all voices are heard. Be aware of personal "air time ". vi. Keep a sense of humor. II. Beginning of the Year: a. School.Updates i. MTSS and start of year activities ii. Explanation of MTSS supports iii. Behavior matrix and core values iv. Start of year assembly- teaching expectations in a positive way v. District PLCs once a month to collaborate, share practices, align, create common measures vi. Building meetings will be once per month - working on what will be meaningful for students vii. Pie in the face 1. Concern raised by Marcel- I like the goal, not the vehicle. Is this showing teachers respect? This Agenda has been prepared in advance and represents a listing of topics that the chair reasonably anticipates will be discussed at the meeting. Parent Feedback i. Pooja shared that parents had a lot of paperwork to fill out especially when they have more than one child ii. Marcel feels that Coolidge is a lot different than Birch Meadow. Child is having a great time at school. Welcome to Coolidge program was great in setting the tone and hitting the ground running. Appreciated effort from staff. iii. Brad reported that it's nice having the kids around more III. Sharing of draft School Improvement Plan for feedback /edits. a. New format for goal setting b. Overarching description of 3 goals and they are broken down c. Pooja raised question on the phrasing of "further practices" -what will this look like? d. Marcel raised question - should all the goals have an "As a result" statement like goal 1? e. Marcel asked what SGP is? As a parent, not sure what that acronym means f. How will we measure the achievement gap? Include that it is state provided. i. Achievement gap relates to high needs demographics g. Marcel asked is there a communication goal? i. Jennalee reported that communication seems to be a strength h. Goal 1 i. What does "effectiveness" mean? ii. Are office referrals a huge priority? Maybe shouldn't be first thing on the list i. Laura felt as though goal 1 may be difficult for parents to understand j. Index of acronyms might be helpful k. Link MTSS district page to Coolidge page I. Legend of statuses would be helpful m. Some typing errors n. Formatting could be more clear to highlight sections o. Perhaps could define the teams that exist in the building (MTSS, Leadership) p. Who are the individuals responsible? q. Are the goals community wide or is there any slicing of accountability? IV. Set Next Meeting Date(s) a. Potential Future Topics i. Would like to start Coolidge Vision from scratch b. Communication c. Parent and community involvement i. Brad could share some thoughts ii. Coming in to the classroom to share experiences with students iii. What does it look like for a middle school parent to be involved? iv. Community service activities v. Community garden, outdoor gardening day vi. Renovating courtyards V. Other Items /Closing Thoughts a. Perhaps the group should create a mission statement b.
