Publicity and Advertising
Mary Ann reported that Press Releases went out and there was a nice article about the LCC grant
application process in the Reading Patch. Releases also went to the Advocate and Chronicle. Nancy
proposed sending out the press release to our email list of Reading non - profits. She will do this
through our Gmail account. Donna talked about the ad in the Reading Recreation catalog which was
of very poor quality and in black and white. She spoke with John Fudo about this and he offered to
not charge us for the ad. Donna proposed we pay half of the $60 fee and the council members agreed
this was fair.
Nora explained a little about the Cultural Connection -- Reading group and offered to be the liaison for
us. Nancy is also interested in following their development. She went to be interviewed during the
Town Day festivities. Hopefully this will appear on RCTV.
Donna reported that we have reserved space on the sign on the Town Common 9/28 to
10/12. She will put up and take down the sign.
Thank you notes were received from Reading Art Association and the Marble Project.
There was a little discussion about the grant review process, requirements and the use of
scoring sheets as well as the spreadsheet that Mary Ann prepared last year. This was very
helpful.
The question of whether the RCC should have its own logo was discussed. Donna will
contact Charlotte at MCC to inquire if we are allowed to add a byline to the MCC logo. She
will report back next meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8:03 pm.
