Review and discussion of Celebration Trust Fund Applications:
1) Reading Civic Concert Band - $8140.
The Trust discussed the use of a Social Security Number on the application rather
than a Federal ID Number.
Rita stated that we need a Federal ID Number before the Trust can review and
vote on the application. In the past, the Town Treasurers Office could not make
payments to applicants that did not have a Federal ID Number. All members
present agreed, and would like to have clarification on whether or not there is a fee
for attending a performance.
Mark called the representative of the application, Lucinda Ellert, and left a message
that a Federal ID Number is needed for the application. Mark will attempt to
contact Lucinda Ellert again.
2) Reading -North Reading Chamber of Commerce - $1500 for the "Holiday Tree Lighting"
The Trust discussed the applicants request for previous expenses, and how it
might set precedence for future applications.
Everett — Motion to reject the Reading -North Reading Chamber of Commerce
because it is a past expense.
Rita seconded the motion. Vote: 4 -0 -0.
Mark will contact the applicant's representative, Carol Hughes, to explain the
outcome of the Trust's decision.
Rita made a motion to make the next open application period, from September 1, 2005 to
October 31, 2005.
Kurt seconded the motion. Vote: 4 -0 -0.
Kurt will contact the local newspapers, RCTV, and the Town's Webmaster for posting the new
open application period.
The Trust discussed having the "Individual Social Security Number" line removed from the form.
