The committee voted to approve minutes of the 03/25/2015 meeting as written by Joan Boegel. Business Recycle Bin • Ron D'Addario reported that tacit approval for the business recycling bin was received from CPDC at their meeting on April 6. Tom Flanagan from JRM was at the meeting to answer questions and show pictures of the bin, which was very helpful. Ron thanked Gina for her very professional report and Laurie Ann for putting the survey results together. • On May 5, the Committee will go before the Board of Selectmen to seek their approval for the recycle bin. The project cannot go forward without this approval. Ron has asked Tom Flanagan to come to that meeting and Gina will try to be there. April 14 Board of Selectmen's Meeting o The Committee is scheduled to do a very brief presentation to the Selectmen on April 14 at 7:40 p.m. Ron and David will present two slides - first, our Earth Day flyer and second, a slide on Community Shared Solar. o Joan will prepare the slide on CSS, based on the RMLD press release which Tom 011ila emailed to the CSS working group (Gina, Joan and Mike), and email the slide to Ron. Joan will also forward the RMLD press release to all Climate Advisory Committee members. o Ron will email both slides to Paula Schena tomorrow, so that she will have them in advance of the Board meeting. Page 1 1 2.013 -99 -03 Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes • Earth Day - April 25th event at RMLD. • Laurie Ann reviewed the list of invited and confirmed participants. Since our last meeting, IBEW local 103, an energy auditing firm called Strategic Serendipity, and a pellet stove company, M &M Chimney, have confirmed. Gina asked Laurie Ann to provide information on all the presenters, so that she can include this information in Green Sense for April 17. • Ray Porter volunteered to have an information table about his ground- source geothermal system and home energy efficiency upgrades. • RMLD will issue a press release about the Earth Day event • Laurie Ann will put together the table lay -out. • Laurie Ann will send out email welcoming all participants with details about directions, parking, size of tables, whether they need electricity and whether they are bringing any large display. • Committee members should plan to be at RMLD from 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. on Saturday. Set -up will begin at 9 a.m. On Friday afternoon, April 24, after 3 p.m., Laurie Ann could use some help arranging tables. Adopt -an- Island. The Garden Club Adopt -an- Island program kick -off is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in the Reading Senior Center. Joan and Ray plan to attend. Friends and Family Day. The committee discussed and voted not to participate in the Reading Friends and Family Day event in June this year, but will consider participating again in future years. Ron will respond to the event organizer. • Walk Reading Weekend. Gina announced that the 2nd annual Walk Reading Weekend, sponsored by Walkable Reading, will be held on May 30 -31.
