Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes
Administrator's Report:
J. Feudo gave an update regarding the lights at Memorial Park. He stated there was an
issue with setting the poles and the town is looking into a hiring a Geo -tech engineer to
evaluate the soils around the poles and a plan to have the correct embedment. This has
slowed the process down significantly. The hopes are to still try to get the lights set for
2014.
J. Feudo gave an update for Washington Park. The progress has been slower than
expected, however, everything has gone well. The paving for the tennis and basketball
courts are complete as is the drainage and drinking fountain. The contractor will be closing
up for the winter and returning in early spring to complete the stamped concrete walkway
and install fencing. The final step will be the painting of the courts and the installation of
the tennis nets and basketball backboards.
J. Feudo mentioned that he has been working on getting some quotes together to replace
the lights at the Birch Meadow Lighted softball field. The plan would be to also add lights to
the other two softball areas. The old fixtures could be kept and recapitalized by replacing
the high pressure sodium flood lights at the skating area.
G. Fiorente gave an update for Fall programming. She mentioned that flag football was
finishing up a successful season. She also mentioned that Travel Basketball was now
underway and Sunday Basketball would be starting this coming Sunday.
F. Driscoll made a motion to adjourn. J. Borawski seconded the motion. Motion passed in
favor of adjournment by a vote of 5 -0 -0.
Meeting adjourned at 8:05.
