An excel document summarizing the three School Improvement Goals the benchmarks, and the progress made toward each goal was presented to the council. The group members present asked if I could send out the hand -outs attached as e-mail documents. An e-mail was sent out on 11/25 with the 2013 -2014 End of Year Summary (EOY) as well as the newly approved 2014 -2015 School Improvement Plan. • The three new School Improvement Goals were presented. Each goal had a theme and focus, goal 1 connects to making work public and the district goals and PLC initiative; goal 2 focuses on tiered systems of academic support; and goal 3 focuses on tiered systems of behavior and social/emotional supports for students and the school. • The time span for each of the new SIP goals is 2014 to 2016. • After reviewing the new School Improvement Plan a motion was made to accept the new plan and the group voted unanimously to accept the new SIP plan. The Parker MCAS Presentation completed on 10/16. The presentation was summarized and a copy of the power point shared with the group. Questions and Answers: Page 1 1 Brian Snell asked about the Ice Bucket Challenge and the Presentation that was made to expand the challenge to increase student and community involvement. Doug shared that the change in the weather and the calendar had really slowed the participation in the ice - bucket challenge. Brian also shared information about Aaron's Presents (htto: / /www.aaronspresents.org /about- us /what- we -do/ ) and inquired about the possibility for students to create a grant and work on it after school. The information was discussed at Rotary and as great potential. The information was shared with students but there hasn't been much interest. Student leaders have been working to support the Reading Food Pantry in November. Minutes reviewed, motion made to accept. AIt voted to accept. Page 12
