Open session for topics not reasonably anticipated 48 hours in advance of the meeting Note: the Public Hearing for the Demolition Delay for 172 Washington Street was taped. MC made introductory remarks. Michael Belmonte, the owner of 172 Washington Street, presented photographic evidence of poor condition of the house -water damage, mold, animal infestation, roof damage. VA described the historic aspects of the house as listed on the inventory sheet. MB presented preliminary drawings of the proposed duplex to be built after the demolition of the existing house. Overall the RHC members voiced concerned about the massing, lack of architectural character, and proximity of the building to the street. 172 MB commented that the Zoning Board made the recommendation Revise Washington to move the new building back 50 feet from the street. The RHC and Send RP Street made the following recommendations: to Town 1- revise the roof lines (dormers and gable ends) Clerk 2 -add trim boards around the window, corners, water table 3 -add carriage style doors on the garage MB agreed to submit new drawings. The vote to close the hearing was 5 -0 in favor. After a one hour hearing, RS made a motion to close the hearing, SRS seconded the motion. The vote to close the hearing was 5 -0 in favor. After an additional 30 minutes of discussion, RS made a motion to table the decision and to continue the discussion within 7 days. SRC seconded in the motion. The vote to table the discussion was 5 -0 in favor. Discussion to continue on May 22 at 8:30 pm. RHC received a letter requesting the RHC comments on the MC to VNA proposed door renovations. MC to respond to VNA architect that the RHC has no issue with the proposed door renovation. MF Charles All Town Departments have to sign off on the building permit. RHC Building was asked to sign off on the permit. SRS offered to sign the permit. SRS Treasurer's RS requested approval for the expenditure of RHC funds for the Report printing of an the stipend for the Window Woman, total was $169.99 dollars. Rich Schubert received an RHC recognition award and made a Preservation speech about the value of the historic work of the RHC. Alison Month Hardy, The Window Woman, spoke to an audience of about 30 people. RHC The new computer has been installed and is connected to the Computer Town server. The existing computers have also been connected to the Town server. MC will not be renewing his membership after June 30. Membership RP commented that she will not be renewing her membership after June 30.
