Meeting Reviewed 01/07/2014 meeting minutes, approved as Amend minutes CM minutes amended. Historical The RHC elected to nominate the Old South Church for the Begin write -up to VA Awards MA State Historic Preservation Award. VA to start on nominate nomination paperwork and enlist other RHC members to work on the nomination as needed. Next year, the RHC will discuss nominating the MF Charles building for the same award when that project is complete. Also discussed, the RHC grants historical restoration and preservation awards to properties in Reading. These are currently paper certificates, a discussion was held to explore changing over to brass placques instead, no agreement was reached. The subject was tabled for further discussion. Budget/ No changes. Expenditures 607 Pearl St. Roofing nails were donated by the owners of the property. Archives The RHC discussed and approved spending up to $50 on Purchase dollies VA file cabinet dollies to make use of the bottom drawers. Currently, the bottom file cabinet drawers are to prevent water damage to files. Reminder: update Historical databases when moving files. Page 1 1 Page 1 2 32 Lowell St. The building was formerly the Christian Science Church and is now home to the New England Ballet School. A representative from the Christian Science Church donated drawings of the church floor plans, via RP. 89 Woburn St. This is the Carter Mansion opposite the Church of the Good Shepard. An inquiry was received by the RHC from the prospective buysers asking about restrictions on updating historic homes. The RHC discussed prior similar requests and discussed producing a generic letter explaining said restrictions. Demolition ■ Reviewed documents and approved as amended. All Amend docs and CM Delay Hearing documents to include an adoption date of 1/28/2014. send to RHC Process Docs ■ The RHC also reviewed a draft of Rules and Regulations to accompany the Demolition Delay Bylaw; more discussion to follow. Zoning Mtg The next Zoning Bylaw revision meeting will be held on Attend meeting VA February 5 at the Senior Center. A representative from the RHC will attend the meeting to keep up to date on changes to the Bylaw. Finance A Finance Committee budget meeting will be held on SRS Committee January 29; SRS will talk to Jean Delios about RHC's need Meetinq to attend. Placquing ■ The RHC reviewed placques used by Lynnfield and Look into the SH Program discussed their program where they provide matching placques Lynnfield funds to homeowners purchasing a placque for their is using historic homes. ■ Also discussed is Lynnfield's issue with demolishing historic buildings. They are discussing installing placques for demolished buildings with a picture of the building as a way of showing the community what they are losing when they tear down these buildings. Historic The RHC discussed having a roundtable discussion with Commission Historic Commissions from neighboring towns to talk about Roundtable solutions to issues. The question was raised about whether or not public meeting rules apply? Annual Report SRS will write and submit the RHC Annual Report SRS Celebration CM was selected to represent the RHC on the Reading Trust Celebration Trust. Adjourned The meeting adjourned at 9:15 pm.
