Topics of Discussion:
Agenda Item: Review and approve minutes of recent meetings
1. Minutes approved for March 16, 2014.
2. Green Leadership Award: PDF of award ready by Michele. Michele has purchased
several frames for the awards.
3. Earth Day:
a. Bird houses: Michele has 8 cartons; Laurie Ann gave Ron four; Joan has
some.
b. Michele will do a treasure map for the kids
c. Ray's recycle relay: all of us need to bring some recyclables and non -
recyclables for the relay. Ron will bring two red curbside recycle boxes. We
also need non -red box bins for mixed items.
d. Joan, Gina, and Ron will bring tables to the Mattera Cabin for Earth Day.
e. Michele will send out reminders to our presenters.
f. Michele will also check on parking in regards to the remaining snow.
Hopefully, the snow should melt.
g. Nature walks at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., and 1 p.m. We are not sure who will
lead them.

h. Michele is doing the table layouts. Some of the presenters would like to
rotate their spots. Those in the rear room would like to enter the main
room. Michele is overseeing this.
i. If the weather is bad, we will go inside the cabin and do the best we can
to celebrate Earth Day. Ron will bring coffee.
j. Joan will call John Feudo to see if we can bring youngsters upstairs at the
Mattera Cabin in the event of rain.
k. Ron will e-mail a flyer for the Keystone XL pipeline presentation to
Laurie Ann. She and Michele will construct a single poster for Earth Day and
for the Keystone XL talk which will be placed in the Reading Library. Ron
will take the poster to the library. A location in the library will become
available after the town elections on April 1St.
4. Betsy Schneider: Reading Cares and the Bike Swap
a. Dates of Bike Swap, Friday, May 2nd and Saturday, May 3`d. Friday:
11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., drop off donated bikes. Saturday 9 a.m. to 11
a.m. donate bikes, 12 to 12:30 p.m. pick -up bikes with previous
donation and 12:30p.m. to 1:30 p.m. pick -up bikes for those who did
not make a donation.
b. Betsy is looking for bike mechanics to check and make minor
repairs on the bikes. Betsy will contact Ray who previously helped in
this area. He is not present at our meeting.
c. Ron volunteered for Friday, May 2 "d. Joan on Saturday.
d. Betsy will send flyer to Ron who will send it to RCTV.
e. Betsy asked if the police could do a bike safety talk on Saturday,
May 3, 2014. Michele suggested that Betsy contact the bike safety
officer to determine whether the officer could give the safety talk and
also to ask the officer if the police have any bikes in storage to add to
the swap.
