General Business Page I 1 r Town of Reading r, i Meeting Minutes Veterans Agent Driscoll stated that he has had Veterans inquire about being interred in veterans' lots (Charles Lawn and Wood End). Bob explained that under the present policy veterans cannot purchase pre -need and that the policy was modeled after the national policy. Bill Brown noted that in the past, a veteran husband and wife wanted to purchase lots at Wood End since they lived in the area. The Board seemed to be in agreement that perhaps the policy was too restrictive, in light of the fact that a veteran can purchase pre -need in other sections of the same cemetery. Bob will bring more information for the next meeting. On a motion by Bill Brown and seconded by Janet Baronian, it was voted to waive the $100 fee for installation of veterans markers up to five civil war markers as an in -kind donation for the Civil War Preservation Grant. The Board also voted to support the restoration of the markeAcadstones and that a letter be forwarded to Virginia Blodgett, Reading Historical Commission and the Board of Selectmen by Bob Keating on behalf of the Board. Bob gave a brief update on the building project and noted that Weston & Sampson was making a presentation to the Board of Selectmen tonight. Bill Brown advised the Board he was doing a show and tell for the Forest Glen site after Weston & Sampson. Receipts Bob noted that there was a "flurry of receipts ". Adjourn The meeting adjourned at 6:35 PM. The next meeting of the Trustees will be Tuesday, April 151°. Respectfully submitted, /✓ c William C. Brown Secretary Page 1 2
