Welcome to everyone.
• Minutes are approved for January 15, 2014.
• Questions for the town manager, Robert LeLacheur. Joan asked for questions for the
town mana er for his visit with us on February 12`x'.
, the town managers administrator. We need to send him some
questions prior to his meeting with us on February 12, 2014. Some of the questions
mentioned include,
o His environmental vision for the town
o Sustainability issues that our committee could help complete
o How should we communicate with him?
o What is his environmental vision for the town? What are his needs for us?
o How should we communicate with the town manager and the board of selectmen?
o What are his thoughts on community shared solar, the solar garden?
o How does he view monthly energy reporting from town buildings? Should those
reports be made public, perhaps on the town website? Is ESCO working?
Page 1 1
o Advise that we follow up on the LEAP report. Should we provide businesses and
residents on existing programs available at RMLD? Laurie Ann suggested that we
wait until the RMLD has filled several staff positions in order to efficiently
implement those programs.
o Could we work to realize the LEAP program recommendation of sharing an
energy manager between the four towns? A community innovation grant may be
available for several communities working together.
o Can we achieve the parameters of green communities act without actually being
an official green community?
o Are fuel efficiency vehicles a top priority when replacing town vehicles?
o Would he support alternative transportation for town employees including ride
sharing? (John Feudo could send an e -mail blast for shared rides seasonally to the
various sport organizations that use our town fields.)
o Could the town provide for more bike lanes for town streets?
o Outreach to town business. Recycle bin with paper and cardboard at the CVS
parking lot? Can we come up with a plan to encourage town businesses such as
our fast food restaurants to do more recycling?
