Call to Order Chair Croft called the School Committee to order at 7:36 a.m. He reviewed the agenda. A. New Business Vote to Appoint New Legal Counsel for TLT Case Mr. Caruso moved, seconded by Mr. Robinson, to authorize the Superintendent to enter into contract with Kopelman & PaiLm as replacement counsel for the on2oin2 litigation related to the high school roiect. Mr. Croft opened the floor to discussion. Mrs. Borawski asked how the proposed fee of $225/hour compared to the current rate being paid. She would also like some feedback from the Committee members who were involved in the interviews. Dr. Doherty said that Brackett & Lucas charges a flat fee of $145/hour. Page 1 1 Ms. DeLai shared that the proposed fee rate is standard and was the lowest of the 4 firms that had submitted proposals. Mr. Robinson felt the discrepancy in the fees could be due to office locations of the firms. Mr. Croft shared that Kopelman & Paige was well prepared and they had clearly done their research on the litigation. Mr. Robinson agreed. He was pleased that there were 4 firms that submitted proposals to allow him to compare strengths and weaknesses. Dr. Doherty reminded the Committee that the litigation costs are being paid out of the Building Project account. Chair Croft called for the vote. The motion carried 4 -0. II. Adjournment Mr. Caruso moved, seconded by Mrs. Borawski, to adiourn. The motion carried 4 -0.
