understand what the school department's technology needs are.

committee requested is not being presented to the Town Meeting.
READING MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL ARCHITECTURAL STUDY

roof and the Finance Committee will amend to $20,000.
REGULAR SESSION 2 APRIL 10, 1995
Mr. Stohlman asked if the school committee wants to move for less than $45,000, something like
$3 5,000?
Mr. Twomey suggested the school committee move for $40,000 because that seemed to be more
in line with the estimates the school department got for this typed study.

seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.
FY96 BUDGET
Mr. Twomey reminded the committee that the Selectmen supported $17,975,000 for the FY96

his inclination was to agree with that amount.

technology. Discussion followed.
Mr. Cummings moved that the school committee agree with an amount of $17,975,000 for the

the technology line in the Capital Improvement Plan Susan Cavicchi seconded the motion. The
vote was unanimous.
SUPERINTENDENT'S SCREENING COMMITTEE
Mr. Twomey asked if there is any interest in appointing all the people who volunteered for the
Superintendent's Screening Committee?
Mr. Stohlman felt the size of the Superintendent's Screening Committee would be too large if
everyone who volunteered is included and the mix would not be reflective of the policy. He asked
what the point of the policy is if we are not going to follow it?
Mr. Cummings pointed out that there would be fifty percent more copying, more scoring and
more interviewing if all the volunteers are placed on the Superintendent's Screening Committee.
Ms. D'Antona commented that she thought the school committee could go ahead and accept all
volunteers, but she believed it was more important for all the school committee to be in
agreement.
The school committee agreed to meet on April 24 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. to discuss selecting the
