Topics of Discussion:
Called to Order: 7:08pm
1. Grace's Guide
• The guide is in final draft and is going to the copyrighters on September 12
and to the printers on October 1. All edits MUST be in before September 19.
• She is looking for approvals from Town Forest Committee and the
Conservation Commission. Input from ROLT is also welcomed.
• She would like some help with the Welcome Letter.
• ROLT is reviewing the guide and will send comments back to Grace ASAP.
• Someone noticed that the Maillet/Morgan property is listed as 6 acres but one
of the Town documents has it at 18 acres. Which is correct?
• Grace said that the cost of the printing has been covered by fund raising.
• Printed copies will be ready around October 10.
2. Your Community Connection
• The Trails Committee decided to host a walk to add to the YCC newsletter for
the fall. The Foliage Walk will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 2pm. We
will start the walk at Grace's new trailhead just off of Sunset Rock Lane, just
inside the driveway to Wood End Elementary School.
3. Kylie Drive Boardwalk
• Questions were raised as to whether the Boy Scout boardwalk project at Kylie
Drive had been completed. Will said that the materials had been picked up

from Mattera cabin. Will went to the site on September 11 and found that no
work has been done.
4. Cutting Bare Meadow
• Concerns were raised about the current usability of Bare Meadow because the
grass is too long and there is a lot of overgrowth including saplings that are
quickly growing. Dave went before the Conservation Commission to express
his concerns. Should the Trails Committee draft a letter? Will suggested
waiting until later in the fall to see how it looks.
• Motion: The Trails Committee will recommend to Cons Comm that DPW mow
the meadow twice per year.
5. Geocache(s) sponsored by Trails Committee
• The Trails Committee has brought up sponsoring Geocache(s) in some of the
trail areas. Tom will talk to the Town Manager. Jean will research cost of
materials and logistics of registering the GPS coordinates.
6. Sledge Woods Trail Blazing
• The question was asked if the new Sledge Woods trail has been blazed. The
answer was: partially.
• Jean will email Pat Lloyd to arrange to finish the trail blazing.
7. Next Project
• The topic of a next project for the committee was discussed. We decided to
do a site walk at Pinevale to see what work needs to be done there.
• One concern is the severity of the angle on one of the bridges. It can be
treacherous when the bridge is wet or snowy.
• The Site Walk will take place on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10:00am.
Next Meeting: Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 7:OOpm.
Adjourn: 8:05pm
