Tom will send email to the organizers about this. Page I r Town of Reading - Needng Minutes • We should gear materials half to adopters and half maps with things like the "Where is this in Reading ?" page. • Other ideas forgetting people involved in Reading's trails. • Geocaching or letter boxing sponsored by RTC. • Find out how Baumgartners have created geocaches. • Potential Projects were discussed. • Kylie Drive — needs a few hundred feet of trail clearing and blazing. A Boy Scout has expressed interest in this project. Let's let him take the lead on it. • Boyd Lot • Sledge Woods to Kurchian connector • Blaze and clear trail • Small bridge needed about 1/8 mile from trailhead on Pasture Road. • Schedule site visit with ROLT • Maplewood (near REI) Trail behind condos that needs boardwalk to connect to other side between properties. Need survey crew to determine property boundaries. Some legal issues with condo association. Low priority. • Pinevale • Boardwalk is in poor shape and needs a lot of work. Maybe create a different trail upland? • Project Priorities: Sledge Woods then Pinevale • The Town is putting in a water line near Ivy Lane where there will be an easement. Maybe a future project? • John Parsons mentioned that REI has eliminated the community outreach in many of their locations. We may not have luck getting REI involved in future projects. • Site walk planned at Sledge Woods on Sunday, April 28. Meet at the end of Pasture Road at 10:00am. ROLT should be notified. • Grace's project was discussed. Kim made edits to the trail descriptions. Jean will add hers and send the document back to Grace. Jean mentioned the Trails Workshop that Grace is planning to hold on April 23. • Scout involvement in trails was discussed. A Cub Scout leader reached out to Kim regarding helping with trails. Cub Scouts can potentially become trail adopters and /or help with trash pickup on the trails. • Friends and Family Day — Saturday, June 15. We should have a table with information geared toward kids. Possibly push the Adopters program. • Dave will email dates for the next meeting since the Bird Walk coordination will be the primary topic. We will also discuss the results of the Sledge Woods site walk. Page 12 Town of Reading - Meeting Minutes The meeting was adjourned at 8:58pm. Page 13 .1.
