HomeMy WebLinkAbout1987-04-29 Bylaw Committee MinutesBy -Law Committee Meeting 110 April 29, 1987 7:40 Meeting was called to order in the Selectmen's office Members Present: Ed Murphy, George Theophanis, Phil Pacino, Nils Nordberg Discussion: Minutes #108 were approved VOTE: 4 -0 -0 Discussed the process of publishing notice of the hearing which we will hold on our proposed revision of the By -Law to bring them into conformance with the Charter. It was confirmed that as suggested on March 11th, that the Com- mittee will publish notice in the Chroncile on May 4th and have a copy of the update revision available for the public to view at Town Hall and at the Library and at the hearing which will be May 28th. We then undertook a review of the draft of tha revised by -laws as prepared for us by the Town Clerk's office. George Theophanis moved, Nils Nordberg seconded, to delete two paragraphs of §6 of Article II as taken from the Charter and restore the old icy -law language, changed by deleting, in four instances, the words, "registered voter" and inserting the word "inhabitant ". VOTE: 4 -0 -0 TO RECOMMEND On a motion of Phil Pacino, seconded by George Theophanis, delete §10 of Article III, re- number the other sections accordingly. VOTE: 4 -0 -0 TO RECOMMEND On a motion of Nils Nordberg, seconded by George Theophanis, amend Article XXIII, §1 by adding after the word "committees ", the phrase ",and the Town Counsel ", VOTE: 4 -0 -0 TO RECOMMEND On a motion of Phil Pacino, seconded by George Theophanis, we will amend Article IX in the title and in five subsequent instances by changing "Town Collector" or "Collector of Taxes" to "Treasurer- Collector "; and in §4, by changing "Commissioner of Corporation and Taxation" to " Commissinoer of Revenue ".
