READING PLANNING BOARD
Minutes of September 30, 1985
PRESENT: M. Rich, Chairman; J. Wood, Clerk; Board Members - D.
Devine, M. Slezak, S. Trainor; M. Carriers, Administra-
tive Assistant; D. Ensminger, IDC; P. McKinney, Minot
DeBlois 6 Maddison; J. Nickerson, Conservation Commission;

Meeting convened at 6:45 PM in Room 127 of the Reading High School,
62 Oakland Road.
TOWN MEETING - ARTICLE 5
Board members reviewed events since the previous session of
Town Meeting.
Mr. Devine moved to amend the motion under Article 5 to $15,000.
The $10,000 study requested under Article 5 will provide informa-
tion on the £easability of siting the DPW garage on alternate sites.
Following discussion on the advisability of requesting additional
funds for a more in depth -study of several sites, Mr. Devine with-
drew his motion. Ms. McKinney suggested the $10,000 could go further
if she were to prepare a list of information needed and the Board
members were to gather it.
Mrs. Adams approached the Board with a proposed instructional
motion, under Article 2, to establish a citizens committee for a
cursory review of proposed sites, Planning Board members welcomed
Mrs. Adams' offer, but suggested such -a group work in cooperation
with the Planning Board in order that efforts not be duplicated.
OTHER
1. Bills totaling $6,605.16 were signed.
2. The Personnel Action Form for the new Administrative Assistant,
Mrs. Carriere, was signed.
3. An updated directory of Planning Board members and staff was
distributed.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.
