Minutes of November 6, 1985
PRESEPRESENT: M. Rich, Chairman; J. Wood, Clerk; D. Devine, S. Trainor, M.
Slezak (arrived 8:30 PM); M. Carriere, Administrative Assist-
ant
Meeting convened at 7:30 PM in the Selectmen's Meeting Room at Town Hall,
16 Lowell Street.
DISCUSSION OF TOWN MEETING ARTICLES
Mrs. Trainor expressed concern over anticipated Town Meeting reac-
tion to "last minute changes ". Mrs. Rich, however, noted these revisions
were in response to citizen input at the public hearings.
Further research is being pursued regarding the attitude of sur-
rounding communities toward "for use" variances.
Following discussion, Board members voted to defer action on all
proposed article revisions, amendments or changes until November 12
of subsequent Planning Board meetings. VOTED 4 -0 -0 (Mr. Slezak had
not yet arrived.)
Mrs. Nickerson, of the Conservation Commission, inquired as to the
Planning Board's position on Article 11 (to transfer the Nike Site to
BPW for use as a site for their facilities). Mrs. Rich replied the
Planning Board's unofficial position is to indefinitely postpone pend-
ing completion of the current study of the John Street /Ash Street area.
No vote has been taken by the Planning Board.
AQUIFER PROTECTION DISTRICT
The taped public hearing on this proposed amendment to the Zon-
ing Bylaws was called to order at 8:00 PM.
Because the legal notice advertising the public hearing was avail-
able to all those attending, the Board voted to dispense with the Clerk's
reading of the articles in question. VOTED 4 -0 -0 (Mr. Slezak had not
yet arrived.)
Following testimony, those in attendance were polled for their
opinion. Of the eleven people in attendance, seven were in favor, none
were opposed, and the remaining abstained.
Public hearing was closed at 9 :05 PM.
