READING PLANNING BOARD
Minutes of .April 14, 1986
PRESENT: M. Rich, Chairman; J. Wood, Clerk; G. Wood, D. Devine, T.
Stohlman - Members; M. Carriere, Administrative Assistant
Meeting convened at 6:55 PM in Room 129 of the Reading High School,
62 Oakland Road.
READING HOUSING AUTHORITY
WAVERLY & OAKLAND ROADS
Board members discussed the plans submitted to the Planning Board.
Mrs. Wood expressed disappointment that the Reading Housing Authority
and /or its architect had not made a presentation to the Planning Board.
Concerns included parking area design and the lack of defined terri-
torial limits for residents. Mrs. Rich will convey these concerns to
the Board of Appeals hearing on April 16, 1986.
MINUTES
Following discussion the minutes of March 19, 1986 were approved
as read. VOTED 5 -0 -0.
BILLS
Bills totaling $104.32 were signed.
CAMP CURTIS GUILD
In response to a letter of inquiry from the Planning Board to the
National Guard regarding plans for Camp Curtis Guild, Major General
Spadorcia contacted Mrs. Rich and informed her that future plans for
the site included razing existing barracks and constructing offices.
Units will be stationed at Fort Devens.
At the March 19th meeting it was stated that the Planning Board
reaffirmed its previous vote of January 8, 1986 to sponsor the Camp
Curtis Guild rezoning article for Town Meeting. Review of the minutes
of the January 8th meeting show that no vote was taken at that time.
Board members discussed the ramifications of rezoning this parcel
but could come to no decision. The issue was tabled until the next
Planning Board meeting when further information from the Board of
Assessors would be forthcoming. VOTED 5 -0 -0.
OTHER
1• Criterion Road - C & C's attorney will meet with the Board of Survey
on April 24. Mrs. Rich has notified the attorney that all Board
of Survey conditions, as well as those in the agreement with the
Planning Board must be met before the escrow funds will be released.

2. Continental Cablevision - Interior remodeling estimated in excess
of $30,000 - requires Site Plan Review
3. Rivers, Ace Art - Has been notified of Site Plan Review requirements
4. Callan, West Street - MAPC feels a full EIR should be required.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM.
