Reading Cultural Council Minutes
November 5 2012 Reading Public Library Small Conference Room

The meeting began at 7:05 P. M. Present were Lynne Cassinari, Lorraine Horn, Peggy Caouette,
Eileen Collins, Nancy Snow Dockser, Colleen O'Shaughnessy, Jacalyn Shelton Wallace, Catherine
Folan, Donna Schenkel.
The last two women are interested in filling seats on the council.
The meeting began with introductions around the table followed by interviews of the
applicants:
Jennifer Hart of Creative Arts
Alex Lachmayr and Lucinda Ellert of the Civic Band
Nancy Perkins, Memoir Writing
Marianne Tompkins, Barrows Elementary School field trip to Symphony
Kate Jenkins of Community Singers
Jeanette Corbett of Reading Art Association
Fran Sansalone and John Sullivan of the Ivy Cord Coffee House
Peter Stickel of Standing Room Only
Pam Denning of Colonial Chorus
Linda Snow Docks of Musical Healing
Kate Zanino from Eaton Elementary School, Poetry Can Be Fun
Lorraine Horn then relayed email messages and phone messages from applicants who could not
attend the interviews.
The council members were advised to come prepared to vote on applications at the next
meeting December 3.
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously accepted.
Lynne Cassinari said the New England Ballet School had offered the council free tickets and she
asked what we should do with them. She will check into the value of the tickets and report back
to us.
A sample Disapproval Letter and Score Sheet for Evaluating grants were distributed, and we
were asked to consider them as we make our decisions. Conflict of Interest forms were made
available for those who may have a conflict with an application.
The meeting adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
