7:00 - 7:03 Welcome to everyone. Members and Guests in Attendance.

7:03 — 7:05 Meeting minutes
7:05 — 8:00 Green Business Award process
Met with Sharma of Reading Coop Bank. Discussed environmental initiatives at
the bank. Recommended placement of recycling bin and conduct an audit from
RMLD. Wait for response from Reading Coop on our recommendation.

Olde Reading Butcher shop received application form. Audit to follow -up.
Porter Odor Science received an application.
Dunkin Donuts — Franchise owner responsible for environmental issues.
Owner has over 137 stores. Ron to follow -up on lighting issues.
RINR Chamber of Commerce — contacted Priscilla of RMLD. Follow -up early
2013.
Reading Library — April 23`d Ray to give a presentation.
Kilowatt kits usage not known. Distribution through RPL not Noblenet.
May want to promote the use of the meter again.
Coolidge MS meeting at team time (11:30 to 12:20). Students (8d' grade) were
attentive. Discuss carbon footprint.
Reading High School, Jennifer Thomas interested in climate issues and will be
teaching classes on the subject in March.
Competition for environmental issues, walking to school.
RMLD T -shirt contest.
Green Sense writing contest (article reviews)
Earth Day display preparation
8:00 — 8:20 Residential Energy Efficiency — Buying local/organic or the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse,
recycle). Next topic = Ice dams.
Audit experience — Joan audit with Next Step was confusing as to what utility
services are used (oil, gas and electric). Appointment times were confusing and
the services provided were inconsistent. Joan to send summary to Jared.
8:20 — 8:30 Discuss ideas on solar gardens and solar panels. Installer to be named soon, mid -
Feb? Mary Delai was excited about the educational benefits of renewable energy,
but did not expect a significant economic benefit.
Redo of GHG footprint — Town -wide or just municipal buildings.
Potential meeting with Rick Schubert has not been available.
We are on the agenda for the Feb 12.Selectmen meeting. Send idea to Joan/Laurie
Ann. Report on adaptation and emergency plan.
