HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-04-08 Board of Selectmen Minutes - Executive Session Board of Selectmen Meeting Executive Session April 8, 2008 The Executive Session convened at 7:10 p.m. in the Town Hall Conference Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts. Present were Chairman James Bonazoli, Vice Chairman Stephen Goldy, Secretary Ben Tafoya, Selectmen Camille Anthony and Richard Schubert, Town Manager Peter Hechenbleikner, Assistant Town Manager/Finance Director Bob LeLacheur, Town Counsel Ellen Doucette and Paula Schena. Litigation Town Counsel Ellen Doucette reviewed the status of pending litigation. She noted that the Reading Memorial High School is a huge piece of litigation and the Town is holding $2.5 million for the track, lighting, HVAC and wall.. She also noted that the contractor TLT is under a lot of investigation and is involved in a lot of litigation. She suggests that the Selectmen meet with the School Committee in Executive Session regarding this litigation. In the matter of Memorial Park, the Judge wants a case management conference. The Attorney General's Office suggests removing the sports. They have also indicated that if this goes to trial, the Attorney General's Office will pull out. A motion by Tafova seconded by Goldv to adiourn the Executive Session of April 8. 2008 at 7.50 p.m. was approved on a roll call vote with all five members voting in the affirmative.
