Dear Selectmen,
On Tuesday night I watched with interest the interviews you conducted for the next town manager. Upon
completion of those interviews, it was evident to me that Kerry Speidel stood out as the best candidate for the
next town manager of Reading.
Kerry was articulate and has a career of broad experiences. She was respectful of Reading and excited at the
opportunity to be part of our community. During her interview Kerry was articulate, knowledgeable and
confident. I found her to also be very personable and candid which are important qualities in a town manager.
I realize there may be a tendency to want to stay in your comfort zone and choose Bob, because you have
worked with him. However, when you step out and choose the candidate who is from the "outside" you get
fresh ideas and new perspectives on issues.
This is an exciting time for the town of Reading and I urge you to step out and select Kerry Speidel as our new
town manager.
Respectfully,
Heidi Bonnabeau

Re Reappointment of Diane Cohen to the Reading Housing Authority
Dear Governor Patrick:
This letter is to request and recommend the reappointment of Diane Cohen, 73 Hillcrest
Road, Reading, MA to the Reading Housing Authority. Since her initial appointment,
Diane has been a devoted, committed, and knowledgeable member of the Reading
Housing Authority. She is extremely knowledgeable about affordable housing issues,
and particularly as they impact Reading.
Diane has been our state appointee since May 2004 and has been a wonderful asset to our
agency. She has a clear understanding of our community's needs and has an enormous
amount of professional expertise and experience in the area of housing. It is a rare
occurrence for her to miss a board meeting. We certainly would hate to lose her
especially during these difficult times in the housing industry.
Thank you for your consideration of Diane's qualification to be reappointed to this
important post in Reading.
Sincerely,
Stephen A. Goldy, Chairman
