As a Town Meeting member first elected almost twenty years ago serving over various periods of
time coupled with my tenure on the Reading School Committee, I have had significant interactions with
the Town Manager and truly understand the importance of the duties and responsibilities required for such
a position. More importantly, I have served on the School Committee during two separate Superintendent
searches and ultimate hires - including one during a time when we had the same administration for nearly
twenty-five years. The upcoming town manager search is quite similar based on his tenure with the Town
and requires careful screening. The previous searches that I was involved included site visits to the

various towns, interviewing and gathering input from the public which were all crucial in the process.
And finally, having lived in town for over three decades, I know the culture of our community which is
unique to Reading.
On the private sector side, I serve as in-house counsel and deal with a variety of legal issues
including commercial and transactional as well as employment and compliance matters. These
experiences coupled with the deep understanding of town government, I hope to contribute to the town
manager screening committee.
