The meeting was called to order at 6:00 P.M. by Chairman Joseph Veno in the presence of members Richard Foley and Elizabeth Klepeis, and board administrator Karen DeAngelis. APPROVAL OF MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS ELIZABETH KLEPEIS moved to grant Wayne Harding an accidental disability retirement based upon the medical panel certificate that has been received by the board. SECONDED BY: RICHARD FOLEY VOTED: (3 -0) UNANIMOUS • ELIZABETH KLEPEIS moved to grant Kathleen Lentini a member - survivor benefit under G.L. c.32, § 12A while she awaits approval by the Board at the next meeting of an accidental death benefit under the provisions of G.L. c.32, § 9 (under the Heart Presumption Law). SECONDED BY: RICHARD FOLEY VOTED: (3 -0) UNANIMOUS The Board discussed inactive member John Dawson's request for a superannuation retirement. John is a former employee who was hired on December 15, 1969, was injured on April 12, 1978 and then was on worker's compensation. His worker's compensation payments ended on March 9, 1984. He was terminated from the Town of Reading on September 1, 1983 when all of his benefits with the Town ran out. His creditable service would seem to be 14 years, 2 months (12/15/69 to 3/9/84) but it may not be that much. The Board Administrator needs to determine under which section of the worker's compensation law he received benefits but it has not been possible. The Board decided to have Elizabeth Klepeis and Richard Foley go through all of John's files to see if they can determine anything more. ADJOURNMENT 925 • This open session adjourned at 6:22 P.M.
