FINCOM Appointment Committee Meeting
June 28, 2011
The meeting convened at 7:00 pm in the Conference Room, 16 Lowell Street, Reading,
Massachusetts. Present were Committee members Alan Foulds, Marsie West and Camille
Anthony as well as John Arena, Clare Arena, and Assistant Town Manager/Finance
Director Bob LeLacheur.
Alan Foulds called the Committee to order at 7:00 pm. He described that three three -year
terms and one one -year term on FINCOM were open, and that incumbents Paula Perry,
Barry Berman and David Greenfield had expressed interest, as well as John Arena. Mr.
Foulds indicated that the three incumbents would typically be re- appointed to full three
year terms.
John Arena described his 29 years as a resident of Reading and the Appointment
Committee were all well familiar with John and his interest in Town Meeting and the
FINCOM. Mr. Foulds inquired if he had any known conflicts or appearances of conflicts
of interest, and Mr. Arena said that he did not.
On motion by West seconded by Anthonv, the FINCOM ADpolntment Committee
placed the following name into nomination for one one -year term, beginning on July
1, 2011: John Arena. Nominations were closed. On a motion by Anthony, seconded
West, the above candidate was voted 3 -0 -0 unanimously to serve on the FINCOM
in said one -year term.
On motion by West seconded by Anthonv, the FINCOM Appointment Committee
placed the following names into nomination for three three -year terms, beginning on
July 1, 2011: Barry Berman, David Greenfield and Paula Perry. Nominations were
closed. On a motion by Anthony, seconded by West, the above candidates were
voted 3 -0 -0 unanimously to serve on the FINCOM in said three -year terms.
On motion by Anthony seconded by West, the Committee voted to adjourn at
7:10pm by a vote of 3 -0 -0.
