Reading Cities of Climate Protection Advisory Committee
7:00 - 7:06 Welcome to everyone. Members and Guests in Attendance.
Voting Members: Ron, Ray, Joan, and Dave.

Meeting minutes for May 9, 2012 reviewed and approved.
Meeting minutes for April 11, 2012 reviewed and approved
7:06 — 7:25 Green Business Energy Audit. Coordination with Swiss Baker (Tom) has been
arranged. Amend the Green Business to include the contact phone numbers for
RMLD, DPW and National Grid (gas) or Mass Save so the company can arrange
for an audit. Energy New England did the water audit for the DPW.
Contact with the Reading/North Reading Chamber has been slow. Probably do to
the new Executive Director, Julie Higgins, being overload. There is a Green
Business program listed on the website which might the program we initiated.
7:25 - 7:30 Recycle Bin in the CVS Parking Lot. Potential conflict the location of the recycle
bin with the banks located in the lot. .
7:30 — 7:35 Bicycle Path Grant. Reading wants to get on the list of communities for funding
for promoting bicycle use. 1
7:35 — 8:10 Family and Friends Day (June 16). Seeking donations for give -away items that
are consistent with our promotion of tree plantings for winners of the booth
contests. Michelle to distribute letter and flyer.
Laurie Ann to get the table from Reading Light. Michelle to do the tent. Handouts
are made for the Taking Root campaign. Need to bring a few Green Business
Awards flyers.
Games: Leaf Identification Game and Pin the Tree on the Forest Game.
Ron and Dave to prepare a handout on the benefits of trees.
8:10 — 8:17 Sunday, June 24, 4:00 — 8:00pm. Committee Party at Ray Porter's house.
8:17 — 8:30 LEAP Program Meeting. Michelle reported on the LEAP meeting. Brainstorming
session was held to come up with ideas. The process being implemented by the
group is similar to what we identified in our Action Plan.
