07:08 -07:10 Welcome to everyone. Dick Hahn from RMLD present as guest. No
meeting minutes.
07:10 -08:28 Dick Hahn presents energy generation and renewable energy credits.
Renewable energy credits (RECs) are a measure or proof of the renewable
energy produced by a project. A REC is 1 MW -hr (energy). RECs last
only a year before they are retired. The goal is to create a market for
renewable energy projects by providing a financial mechanism. RECs are
purchased along with the power and capacity of a renewable energy
project.
The committee discussed the topic of whether RMLD should manage its
REC by holding them to retirement or to sell them on the market.
Motion to vote on the RMLD policy to hold the RECs for renewable
energy projects made by Joan. Seconded by Ron. Motion discussion. 3 -1
of full members.
8:28 — 8:29 Town of Reading to contribute $400 toward the plaque for the Tree
Program. Need to know where the Tree may be located.
8:29 — 8:30 Ron talked with JRM about the paper recycling program. JRM is still
interested.
