A meeting of the Board of Public Forks convened in the second
floor Conference Room of the Reading Public L.thrary, 64 Middlesex Avenge
at 6 48 F.M.
Present were Chairman Darker, Secretary Hampson ..and Board Member
Folychrones, Superintendent Anthony V. Fletcher and Assistant
Superintendent William R. Bergeron.
It was moved, seconded and voted 3:0 to approve the minutes of
the Board of Public Works meeting of March 26, 1984 as written,
The Board next reviewed the memo regarding the award of Contract
84-S "Inspection of Sanitary Sewer Main,".
It was moved, seconded and voted 3:0 to award Contract 04-S
"Inspection of Sanitary Sewer Mains" to Eastern Pipe Service Inc., of
Nashua, N.N. in the amount of $8,100.00.
The Board adjourned temporarily at 7:00 F.M. to meet as the Board
of Survey.
The Board reconvened at 10;25 F.M.
It was moved, seconded and voted 4:0 that sheet No. 20, Bill No.
22, dated April 18, 1984 for a 70% sewer lateral for William M. jr. and
Marilyn L. Fowler, 323 Franklin Street, Flat 206, I._ot 11 in the amount of
$224.00 be committed to the Tax Collector and betterments assessed
accordingly.
Superintendent Fletcher gave a report on the flushing program,
He stated the program is going well with no extraordinary problems. The
complaints have been far less than we anticipated.
Superintendent Fletcher also reported the lime system has been on
line for the past week and appears to be working well., however, there are
some minor changes to be made and they wi.l.l he made in the next several
week s.

A motion was made by Chairman Barker, seconded by Mr.
Folychrones, to give the Superintendent the authority to grant permission
for use of streets and other facilities as requested by individuals. The
motion passed 3:00 (Mrs. Wood opposed).
At 10:40 P.M. Superintendent Fletcher requested that the, Board go
into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing personnel and the
Chairman polled the Board as follows:
Mr. Hampson - Yes
Mr. Polychrones - Yep.
Mrs. Wood - No
Mr. Barker - Yes
The meeting adjourned at 10:40 P.M.

The undersigned, Board of Public Works of the Town of
Reading, in compliance with the provisions of the General Laws,
Chapter 80, as amended by Chapter 63 of the Acts of 1933, hereby
certify that the lists herewith contain the names of persons
against whom we have made betterment assessments together with
the location of the land benefited by the improvement and the
nature and amount of such betterment assessment.
Sewer lateral (70%).. ........................$224.00
Total .........................$224.00
Such list is certified to you for the purpose of
commiting same to the Tax Collector, as provided by law.
