A meeting of the Board of Public Works convened in Room 127 of
Reading Memorial High School, 62 Oakland Road, Reading, Ma. at 7:05 P.M.
Present were Chairman Barker, Board Members Polychrones and
Griffin, Supt. A.V. Fletcher and Asst. Supt. William A. Redford.
Mr. Hampson joined the meeting at 7:10 P.M.
Mr. Griffin read the Notice of Public Hearing at 7:10 P.M.
regarding the joint petition of the R.M.L.D. and N.E.T.&T. to relocate
poles, wires, cables and fixtures, including anchors, guys and other such
necessary sustaining and protecting fixtures, along and across the
following public way or ways.
King Street: relocate pole 48/17 to the northerly side of the
street approximately 12 1/2' easterly of the Morgan
Park centerline.
Mr. Anthony DiPietro of 7 King Street protested the location of
the pole directly in front of his picture window, and stated his house was
a very low profile and the pole would probably also cause the tree
adjacent to the pole to die. He also protested his privacy would be
violated by the street light.
Paul Hurley of 4 Morgan Park granted an easement for curb setting
and also supported Mr. DiPietro as did Mr. McWilliams on the other side.
Both suggested the pole:
A. Be moved back from its present location
B. That the curbing be pulled up and restructured to allow
the pole to remain where it was.
Mr. Polychrones asked if the Department couldn't do one or both of the
above.

following Monday and the Department would address the problem.
