Mr. Marino- representative from Wayside Bazaar, was also pre^ent., Chairman Parker introduced the members of the Board and the Department, Chairman Barker asked Mr. Conley to offer a statement regarding - a previous project an South Main Street:: Mr„ Conley replied the paving is complete to my knowledge, The problem was with our contractor,, Chai.rmsp Barker stated he was very unhappy with the condition of the sidpwalks an South Main Street„ Mr„ Cooley stated regarding the Hopkins and Main St. projects.; this is an above-ground telephone terminal to provide additional telephone service to the Hopkins Rt.reet area. He passed out photographs depicting the type of terminal that will he installed„ He stated N.F.T.M. has discussed this. With the abutting property owner which is the Wayside Bazaar company and they indicate no objection to it. The problem is with the con-.traction schedule. They requested this not he none until after the holidays because of the nature of their business. The proposed work will all he accrop lished in the sidewalk area- dir. Griffin read a lett41r into the record from the owner of Wayside Bazaar which listed their concerns including the Mocking of their driveway. He added that the terminal to he placed near the Wayside Bazaar will be smaller in SQP, Pupt, Fletcher Opted the layout on the street is before the driveway, so thereforP, T didn't give a lnt of credibility to the blocking of the driveway, Mr.: Magno stated he had problems with the terminal being placed anywhere near the property. T was asked to approach the Finance Committee an acquiring a State-hid vehicle in which we would ultimately trade down cars. The Finance Committee is A the opinion that we should have nut this into the November Town Meeting Warrant although he would research the f i np points of the law; particularly where there is a sa+pt factor involved,. One alternative is going to the Special Town Meeting if there is one in January. He asked the Board Members to look favorably towards this,. Regarding traffic line painting, he would like the Department to use a three phase process for Spring touch-up, August - get ready for school end Ort nhpr•.. The Board discussed the November Town Meeting Article assignments. Chairman Parker asked the Board members to review the "Draft Report to Town Meeting", make any changes and return t.ho=..e changes to him to be discussed on next week's agenda.
