Board of Public Works Meeting of April 8, 1985 Page 1
A meeting of the Board of Public Works convened in Room 122,
Reading Memorial High School at 7:00 P.M. Present were Chairman Barker,
Secretary Hampson, Board Members Polychrones, Griffin and Boucher,
Superintendent A.V. Fletcher, P.E. and Assistant Superintendent Redford.
It was moved, seconded and voted 4:0:1 (Mr. Barker abstaining) to
accept the minutes of the Board of Public Works Meeting of April 1, 1985
as amended.
It was moved, seconded and voted 4:0:1 (Mr. Barker abstaining) to
accept the minutes of the Board of Survey Meeting of April 1, 1985 as
amended.
It was moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to accept the minutes of the
Executive Session Meeting of April 1, 1985 as written.
The Board signed the report of layout for Granger Avenue
Extension.
It was moved, seconded and voted 5:0 to award Contract 85 -3
Sweeping of Streets to J.K. Municipal Services, Inc., P.O. Box 608,
Middleton, Ma. in the amount of $22,211.00 for Spring Clean -up and $488.72
per diem /unit for work in addition to Spring Clean -up.
It was moved, seconded and voted 4 :1 (Mr. Griffin opposed) to
install downtown one bench without planters, one bench with planters and
seven trash receptacles, for an approximate cost with delivery of
$3,650.00.

The Board accepted the water and sewer rate projections as a
point of information.
The discussion of T.A.S.C. proposals was postponed until 7;00
P.M. Thursday, April 11.
The Board signed the Payroll and the Billroll for the period
ending April 5, 1985.
The meeting adjourned at 7;25 P.M.
