Town Hall) 11 OC1 I I A 8' i Present: Ron D'Addario, Dave Williams, Joan Boegel, Tony Capobianco; Gina Snyder,` ichele Benson, Laurie Sylvia Minutes - Notes from August 10th meeting accepted. Library: Library recording short videos from all participants in their Green Grant program. Ron & Tony performed. Website: Tony sent email to Bob LeLacheur, no response. Gina is friendly with Bob and will contact. Issue at hand is storage space needed for GreenSense articles. We will need to administrate the site, which could prove problematic if it's hosted.by the town. Can the town create a web space for all town committees and allow them to administer their own space? This could be separate from the official town site ensuring security. Do we want a Facebook page? Concerns over liberties individuals may take with comments section. Could prove valuable asset for getting out committee events. Free. Gina will check with Walkable Reading on how their website is managed. Tree planting on South Main Street: - Joan reviewed the NEGF grant details. We could award 3 trees to: schools /groups /businesses /citizens that satisfy environmental /sustainability criteria. - Ron recommended that maybe we can get the Voc students to create the plaque to help defray costs. - We could notify home owners with fallen trees of program with town where town & home owner will split cost of new tree ($300), town will plant the tree and the home owner will provide care for the tree. This is separate from the memorial tree program. - Discussion of Michele's excellent tree proposal. Several drafts have since been revised. Water Bills: - Followed up with Tyler forms who manage water bills. - Cu /ft water measurement very common in world of municipal water. - Would like to see actual number of water units consumed on bill. Green Business Roundtable: - Irene will distribute pamphlet in October. - Jared derives specific goals for local businesses to achieve green business award while providing guidance. Each business is different so each approach must be specifically tailored. - Key Acct. Mgr. Joe Bilicki has relationship with several businesses in town and he could assist in soliciting interest in green business program. He may have already started with a few. - The award could be co- awarded by RMLD and CEEC.
