MEETING CALLED TO ORDER — 7:30 pm 2011 SEP 19 A 8: MEMBERS PRESENT — Vicky Schubert, Lorraine Horn, Matt Conway, Peggy Caouette, Sudie Fay, and Lynne Cassinari LATEST UPDATES: Advocacy for arts in debate regarding budget and gaming legislation; email from MCC suggests contacting state reps (Brad Jones) about MCC to benefit from gaming revenues. Marble Collection: digital edition is available; LH will take an action item to contact Dianna about the process for soliciting creative contributions and ask if 20 copies were sent. Americans for the Arts arts census: VS will talk to Jen Lawless about this organization and its mission/value. TREASURER: LH - We received $4,770 to total is $5301.13 The first reimbursement was for the Marble Collection. Upcoming events are April 28 – library author, May 1– Reading Community Singers, May 8 – Colonial Day @ Parker Tavern, and May 25 – Singing Trooper. MINUTES: The minutes of the March 8, 2009 meeting were unanimously approved as amended. (added to last portion of treasurer's report "but it isn't reflected yet in the report LH received" and in Grant Notifications section "greated" was changed to "greater ".) GRANT NOTIFICATIONS: VS reported update on communication with Susan Holloway and Old South Brass & Organ on their change of plans; the event has been moved to November 2010. RCTV COVERAGE OF GRANT RECIPIENTS: Planning for video interviews with grant recipients on Kevin Vendt's show was discussed.KV thought it would be a terrific topic for the May episode of his show. Suggested interviews included Beth Mosier (Reading Community Singers), Susan Beauregard (library author program), Jen Hart (Creative Arts senior program), and Mark Soucy (New Rep Theater), as well as someone from the Parker Tavern or NSYSO events. We would need to include an introduction about the RCC and possibly write up question ahead. VS and SF will talk to KV to ask what is needed and if we need to be on camera. VS and SF will contact above - mentioned interviewees. FINAL MEETING OF THE YEAR AND SUMMER PLANS: The last meeting of the year will be May 10, 2010. In addition, we will not participate in Town Day. Also, LC will see what options there are for a RCC banner to be produced with the MCC logo and Reading Cultural Council (a division of the Massachusetts Cultural Council) message and will check with LH and VS before acting.
