MEMBERS PRESENT — Vicky Schubert, Sudie Fay, Lorraine Horn, Peggy Caouette, and Lynne Cassinari. MINUTES –.SF moved to accept the minutes of February 7, 2011 as amended. TREASURER'S REPORT – Progress was reviewed on reimbursements and account balances. See attached report. COMMUNITY INPUT SURVEY —SF reported that Bob LaLacheur was very helpful. SF asked him to put the survey on the website and send an email to the entire distribution list at two different times. VS suggested we inquire as to how people are put on the list. SF contacted the Patch, RCTV, etc. There was a vendor glitch, but the survey does have two more days. The council reviewed the responses to the survey. The following are some of the council's responses to the survey results. VS It would be beneficial to encapsulate the results of the survey and send to the people who received the survey. SF offered to put this synopsis together. PC suggested that a good question to ask to grant recipients, "What have you learned about the grant experience ?" Q. 2. LC – Public art needs to be emphasized. VS Community -wide conversation of the arts would be worth checking into. Perhaps the cultural council and cultural connection could work together. Other questions brought up were, "Why is it important for kids to have a face -to -face experience in the arts (as opposed to youtube, TV, etc)? Q. 3. LH shared that other communities exhibit artistic icons outside of business and then auction the icons. VS Keep our art activism on the table, but look for times when events are already taking place where the arts can be included to enhance the experience. Q. 7 LC suggested including a list of past project that we supported. VS might include a list of funding priorities. Q. 8. We need a picture of the data, a bar chart perhaps (to show what are the top three priorities)? GRANTEE RECOGNITION EVENT OR PROCESS Reception: SF proposed that there not be a grantee reception, but that there be an announcement of the list of grantees /projects. Passed 4 —1. Video review and discussion- Julia Finlayson created a Youtube account for the RCC and posted its first video interview. She shared, via a written list, those things that would make for better video clips such as still shots of artwork, using a tripod, making certain only one person is speaking at a time, improving sound, and providing full name and affiliation of the interviewee with proper spelling. Also, the council discussed using a voiceover on opening title with MCC logo and RCC logo, cropping/tightening the image, keeping the raw footage shorter, and customizing a standard list of questions for each interview. Interview assignments — Lorraine Horn: Interviewer for Beth Mosier and Camerawoman for Judy Clarke Peggy Caouette: Interviewer for Judy Clarke and Camerawoman for Beth Mosier; Also Camerawoman for RSO representative Lynne Cassinari: Interviewer for Nancy Parsons and Camerawoman for Kathy Greenfield (Historic Commission) Sudie Fay: Interviewer for RSO representative and Camerawoman for Meghan Young Vicky Schubert: Interviewer for Meghan Young and Camerawoman for Nancy Parsons Volunteers needed: We need an interviewer for Kathy Greenfield. We also talked about trying to tape Kate Warner (at New Rep in Watertown). I'm willing to do that interview, but need a Camerawoman. We also need both an interviewer and a camerawoman to do an interview with someone from the Northshore Youth Symphony Orchestra (we thought their director might be a man, which would be good since there's only one other man in the mix here.) And we probably ought to get the EMARC people, too.
