MEETING CONVENED AT 7:00 P.M.
IN ATTENDANCE:
MR. RALPH A. COLORUSSO, MR. ROBERT I. NORDSTRAND,
MR. FRED A. MCGRANE AND MR. WILLIAM BOATWRIGHT.
1. APPOINTMENTS: - NONE NOTED.
2. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS- M/EETING/S:
AUGUST 9, 2011 - APPROVED 2-0 W/MR. COLORUSSO
ABSTAINING.
3. TOWN APPRAISER'S REPORT:
MR. BOATWRIGHT REPORTED THAT ON WEDNESDAY,
8/17/11, ALL CONCERNED PARTIES FROM PATRIOT
PROPERTIES::WILL BE MEETING WITH BOB LELACHEUR
AND OTHER TOWN OFFICIALS. {
MR. BOATWRIGHT REPORTED THAT RRC HAS RECENTLY
COMPLETED` ITS ASSESSMENT OF THE PERSONAL
PROPERTY AND THUS FAR HAS IDENTIFIED
APPROXIMATELY $3.7 MILLION OF NEW GROWTH.
MR. BOATWRIGHT BRIEFED THE BOARD ON THE
HIGHLIGHTS OF CLASS 200 (THE `CLERK'S CLASS) AT
UMASS AMHERST WHICH HE RECENTLY ATTENDED.

3. TOWN APPRAISER'S REPORT: (CON'T)
MR. BOATWRIGHT INFORMED THE BOARD THAT THE DOR
HAS APPARENTLY REJECTED THE APPLICATION FOR
ABATEMENT BY THE READING OVERSEAS VETERANS INC
FOR SEVERAL REASONS. THE BOARD MADE SEVE"L
SUGGESTIONS WHICH MAY BE OF SOME BENEFIT TO THE
ORGANIZATION.
MR. BOATWRIGHT DISTRIBUTED A DOCUMENT WHICH
SUMMERIZED THE STATUS OF THE VERIZON NEW
ENGLAND APPEAL OF THE ATB CASE. THE DOCUMENT
SUGGESTED THAT CITIES AND TOWNS SHOULD CONTINUE
TO SET ASIDE MONIES IN THE OVERLAY ACCOUNT.
THE BOARD THEN REVIEWED THE CURRENT STATUS OF
THE OVERLAY/SURPLUS ACCOUNT WHICH DOCUMENTED A
WORST CASE SCENARIO THROUGH FY2011 OF $485,027.50.
MR. BOATWRIGHT DISTRIBUTED A MEMO DOCUMENTING
THE ESTIMATED COSTS FOR PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT FOR THE ASSESSORS STAFF AND BOARD.
