Board of Health Meeting <br />Minutes <br />June 14, 2001 <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:07 P.M. Reading Town Hall, Berger Room, and 16 <br />Lowell Street, Reading, Massachusetts Chairman James J. Nugent, Colleen Henessey - <br />Seferian, Nancy Carlson excused from meeting, staff liaison Jane Fiore, Health Services <br />Administrator were present. <br />The minutes of the May 10, 2001 were read. Colleen Seferian made a motion to accept <br />the minutes as read. The motion was seconded by Nancy Carlson and approved -vote: <br />2:0:0. <br />Next order of business: <br />• Review of operating guidelines. . Guidelines signed <br />• Board was updated on Mosquito control project and statewide tracking of west Nile <br />Virus. Redaing is prepared to begin the stormdrain treatment with Altosid tablets in <br />25,000 storm drains the last two week of June. The drains near Timberneck swamp <br />will not be treated. <br />• Discussion regarding the closure and development of the landfill. <br />Migration of and control methane gas and cover of the land life and process used burn <br />- off with emergency gauges, fill clean and tested before and after for heavy metals, <br />storm water will be addressed in the C AAA application to DEP to be filed in August. <br />Letter of agreement form the BOH will be sent with the application. BOH will sign <br />letter in June due to the cancellation of the July BOH meeting. <br />• Discussion regarding waste management - Dumpster control as a BOH <br />responsibility. BOH recommendations are to give warning then 2°d complaint issue <br />$100 fine. <br />Review of FY 02 budget and the potential cuts discussed.
